Triumph Muay Thai went 4-1 in its first Provincial tournament!
Alec Shirley had a dominant performance in his elimination round nearly knocking out his opponent with some vicious head kicks and right hands!
Toji Nola had an impressive return to the ring after a 2 year hiatus blinding his opponent with precision boxing and low kicks!
Unfortunately due to injury both Alec and Toji could not continue, but they were still awarded wins from there semi finals.
Finally.. Mark Jefferson Simeon. This man started Muay Thai with Triumph 8 months ago. He lost over 30 pounds, and stepped into the ring, on one of the biggest stages for combat sports. He unanimously won his first fight, and faced a gamed opponent in the finals where he had to fight back from an 8 count in the first round and a twisted ankle in the second! (Twisted his ankle on the refs foot that got in the way)
We were not sure if Jeff could continue on, but his will and determination to not give up pushed him on. Jeff stormed out of his corner in the 3rd scoring an 8 count back and eventually making his opponent give up not wanting to comeout to finish the fight! If you were watching this fight, you knew it had to be the fight of the tournament. This man showed pure heart, and deserved to become the 2016 Provincial Champion!
We are proud of all our fighters, and we thank them for putting Triumph on the map!
We on the rise!
